Love pumpkin decorating, but don't want knives around your kids? Try this cool DIY: Chalkboard Pumpkins! This is perfectly safe, great pumpkin craft for kids! Try it during the fall season so you can decorate your door and stoop, or do it for Halloween! The best part is you can wipe it off the designs and change them as often as you like to keep your holiday decorations fresh (or if your child just wants another go)!
- pumpkins/gourds of any size
- chalkboard spray paint
- chalkboard marker
- masking tape
Step 1: Wrap the pumpkin stems with masking tape to cover them up.
Do this for all of the pumpkins.
Step 2: In a well-ventilated area (like outside), arrange the pumkins on newspaper to protect your surface.
Step 3: Use the chalkboard spray paint to cover fully coat the pumpkins in black chalkboard paint.
Step 4: Allow ample time for the pumpkins to dry.
Step 5: Once dry, pull off the tape masking tape from the stems.
Step 6: Decorate your pumpkin with the chalkboard marker in whatever designs you and your child like!
Step 7: The best part: you can simply wipe off the design if and when you want to start over!
