Recycling Bin Craft

Kids Recycling Bin DIY Craft

Materials:

  • cardboard box
  • colored duct tape
  • patterned masking tape (optional)
  • scissors
  • markers (optional)
  • stickers (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1: Use your colored duct tape and cover the outside of your box. We chose white because we wanted our decorations to really stand out. The duct tape makes the box look pretty and helps reinforce the box for lots of recycling use!

Step 2: Add a second layer of duct tape to secure your box. If your duct tape is a light color (like ours) designs on the box may show through, so use as many layers as needed to cover the box thoroughly.

Step 3: It’s time to decorate the box! Give your little ones total free reign and let them use their imaginations to adorn the box as they like. Supply patterned masking tape, markers, and stickers, and just let then do their thing! My son wanted to use patterned masking tape to print Elliott Loves Recycling! but we didn’t have enough room, so after careful thought, we came up with what you see below:

Step 4: Once your kids are done decorating, it’s time to start gathering all those recyclable items and use your new DIY Recycling Bin!
