Anne Hathaway Gives Birth to Her First Child, a Baby Boy

What’s better than an Oscar? A new baby!

Academy Award-winning actress, Anne Hathaway, gave birth to a baby boy on March 24. The 33-year-old actress and her husband, Adam Shulman, confirmed the baby’s birth to E! News, Thursday, April 7. They chose a traditional name for their first child together, Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman.

Over the holidays, Hathaway showed off her baby bump on the beach. She shared another bump photo alongside her Oscar on Instagram, with the caption “Favorite Oscar day ever. Good luck to everyone at the show! #oscars”:

The baby boy’s proud mama made it clear that having a family has always been in the pipeline for her. Shortly after her marriage to Shulman in 2012, Hathaway told the U.K.’s Telegraph,”I’ll start with one healthy kid but I’d like to have a few naturally and adopt. I gotta get on it, you know? I’d like to have as many as I can afford, not just financially but in terms of time, because you want to make sure each one feels special. I’ve had one goal in mind for the past 12 years, which is: get a movie, get a movie, get a movie. Now I might have to say: get a baby, get a baby, get a baby.”

Well, one down, Ms. Hathaway! Congratulations!
