Jack Black shares his secret to good parenting.
Jack and his wife Tanya share two young sons, Samuel and Thomas, who keep them on their toes. Jack shares that he now knows the key to being a good dad: “The more sleep I get, the better dad I am. Parenting is 90% energy; if you don’t have it, then there tend to be some lazy TV-watching days with the kids, and that ain’t gettin’ it done.” His family loves to spend time outdoors in the California sunshine. He says that his favorite kind of day is: ““A great day with them — my sons are 4 and 2 — is an energized adventure in the world.”
Jack jokes that the key to happy children is not letting them be TOO happy. “Never try to make a happy child happier. Just leave it alone. When you try and kick it up to another level with a scoop of ice-cream or whatever, it ruins everything.”
