Spring into Summer: DIY No Sew Table Runner

I love the bright, cheery colors of spring! It can be difficult to find table linens to match my spring mood, but that doesn’t stop me! It’s super easy to make your own table runner, and you don’t even have to know how to sew. If you’re looking for a lighter weight and brighter color table runner for your spring celebration you can make your own no sew table runner in less than an hour with a couple yards of burlap and a couple yards of cotton fabric. The directions below are for a six-foot table—just add on additional length if you are making this for a longer or shorter table.

Supplies:

  • cream color burlap: 2 1/2 yards
  • green cotton: 2 1/2 yards
  • floral cotton: 2 1/2 yards
  • double sided iron on adhesive

Instructions:

Step 1: Cut the burlap to 18 inches wide.

Step 2: Remove 2 to 3 threads from around the outside on all sides of the burlap.

Step 3: Cut the green cotton to 15 inches wide.

Step 4: Cut the floral cotton to 12 inches wide.

Step 5: Iron all the pieces, then lay them out with the burlap on the bottom, the green cotton, and the floral cotton on top, with each layer centered above the other.

Step 6: Place a strip of the iron on adhesive between the burlap and the green cotton, and iron it on with a hot iron. Remove the strip backing and press it again to adhere the 2 pieces together.

Step 7: Continue by placing the adhesive all the way around the outside edge between the burlap and the green fabric.

Step 8: Repeat the process and place the adhesive strip between the green cotton and the floral cotton, and iron it on to fuse the 2 layers together.

Step 9: Place the table runner down the center of your spring or summer table.
