When I was pregnant with my first child, I wanted to make the right purchasing decisions, but as a new mom I knew nothing about baby products. Inspired to give moms an app I wish I had, my business partners and I launched Favored.by. It’s an app where moms can rate the best products out there—and that means I spend a lot of time researching baby products on the market. I’ve also had three kids (my youngest one is 3-years-old), so I’m constantly trying things out. And here’s the thing: I’ve discovered that there are certain game changers out there that make all the difference, especially when you have a newborn. Here, the things that I recommend to all new moms…
Ali Landry is our October guest editor. Landry is an actress, model, and mom. She’s best known for her sexy Super Bowl Doritos commercial, as well as her roles on “Felicity,” “Two Guys and a Girl,” “Sunset Beach,” and “Popular.” In 2011, she created and executive produced her first TV show, “Hollywood Moms’ Night,” for the TV Guide Network. Currently, she is producing a docu-series about the young women who started the clothing company, Show Me Your MuMu.
In addition to her work on TV, the former Miss Louisiana and Miss USA has worked in film. She co-starred in Bella, a film by her writer-director husband Alejandro Gomez Monteverde; it won the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival in 2006. She also played the role of a military mother in her husband’s 2015 movie Little Boy, an adult fairytale that takes place during World War II.
These days, Landry is pursuing TV production projects, as well as helping other moms. Her popular app, Favored.by, enables moms to access ratings on baby products from like-minded spirits. Additionally, she just hosted her fifth Annual Celebrity Red CARpet Safety Event, which promotes car seat safety.
Landry lives in Los Angeles with her husband and three children, daughter Estela, 9, and sons Marcelo, 4, and Valentin, 3.
