8. Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken
Sweet and weird teenager Ruby Gillman is desperate to fit in at school, but she feels invisible. The 16-year-old is even prevented from hanging out with the kids at the beach as her over-protective mom has forbidden her to get in the water. Out of desperation, when Ruby breaks her mom’s rule, she makes a surprising discovery that she is a descendant of the warrior Kraken queens, who are sworn to protect the world’s oceans against power-hungry mermaids. Rally Road Racers tells the story of a rookie race car driver who wants to prove that he is born to drive.
