DIY: Cupcake Flags

I’m always looking for ways to use the mountain of scrap fabric I have, so I created these quick and easy cupcake flags for a recent celebration.

t’s a smart way to coordinate décor with your festivities too!

MATERIALS

CUPCAKE FLAGS

  • Fabric scraps
  • Toothpicks
  • Mod Podge
  • Foam Brush
  • Pinking Shears
  • Wax paper

INSTRUCTIONS

CUPCAKE FLAGS

Take a piece of scrap fabric and fold it, giving enough room to make a triangle flag

CUPCAKE FLAGS

Cut out your desired shape on the fold, I chose a triangle flag, but you could do any shape:  circle, square, etc.

CUPCAKE FLAGS

Place the fabric on the wax paper and brush the wrong side with mod podge

CUPCAKE FLAGS

Put the toothpick right in the center

CUPCAKE FLAGS

Fold the flag over so that it is even, making sure the toothpick is secure.

Liberally brush on mod podge on each side.   Place on a clean sheet of wax paper to dry.

CUPCAKE FLAGS

Continue until you have all the flags you desire.  Dry for about an hour

CUPCAKE FLAGS

Insert flags into the top of each cupcake and let the festivities begin
