Victoria Beckham was born Victoria Adams in Hertfordshire, England to Jacqueline and Anthony Adams. Her father, an electronics engineer, did very well for himself and therefore Victoria and her siblings, Louise and Christian, were brought up in a posh lifestyle. Victoria admitted to often being embarrassed by her family’s wealth, begging her father not to drive her to school in his Rolls Royce.
After seeing the movie “Fame” at the age of 7, Victoria declared her desire to become a famous performer. Her parents enrolled her in the Jason Theater School, and at age 17 she attended Laine Theater Arts to study dance and modeling. Little did she know that her wish to become famous would be granted when, in 1994, she answered an ad looking for talented singers and dancers for a new girl group being formed. In February of 1995 the Spice Girls released their debut album and became an instant smash.
In March of the same year Victoria attended a Manchester United soccer (football) game and met her future husband, David Beckham. After meeting her, David told Britain’s Sun newspaper: “That’s the girl for me and I’m going to get her! She’s my idea of perfection. I knew that if she wanted me, we would be together forever.”
The two started dating and on January 24, 1998, David proposed. A few months later, they announced that that Victoria, aka Posh, was expecting their first child. They welcomed their son, Brooklyn, on March 4, 1999.
Victoria married David in a lavish ceremony at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland on July 4, 1999. The event was highlighted with fireworks, red velvet thrones, and an orchestra that played Victoria’s Spice Girl hits.
In 2000 she and the other Spice Girls decide to end their successful run and work on independent projects. Victoria went on to record some solo work, penned her first book, launched a new fragrance and started to dabble in fashion collaborations.
The couple welcomed two more sons in the following years: Romeo was born on September 1, 2002 and followed by Cruz on February 20, 2005.
In 2007, David signed on with the United States soccer team L.A. Galaxy, which prompted the family to make the move to Los Angeles. Victoria taped a reality special called “Victoria Beckham: Coming to America” to highlight the big move and her attempt to get acclimated to the L.A. lifestyle.
Victoria embarked on a short reunion tour in 2008 with her Spice Girls and was happy to have a chance to show her boys what she used to do. She also launched her successful fashion line, VB Designs, which is she very passionate about.
Despite being one of the most famous celebrity moms in the world, Victoria is very down-to-earth and loves to spend time volunteering at her boys’ school by serving lunches and reading in the classrooms.
She is also very active in supporting her favorite charity, Save the Children.
Victoria and David welcomed their fourth child together, a daughter named Harper Seven, in July of 2011.
