    • ground turkey: 1 pound
    • seasoned bread crumbs: ¼ cup
    • garlic, minced: 1 clove
    • red onion, diced: 2 tablespoons
    • salt: ¼ teaspoon
    • ground cumin: ½ teaspoon
    • chili powder: ¼ teaspoon
    • cilantro, finely chopped: 2 tablespoons
    • mayonnaise: 2 tablespoons
    • vegetable oil: for grill
    • jalapeno jack or Monterey jack cheese: 4 slices


    Step 1: Preheat and outdoor grill or grill pan to medium-high.

    Step 2: In a large bowl combine turkey, bread crumbs, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder, cilantro and mayonnaise. Mix with your hands until just combined and form into 4 patties.

    Step 3: Brush the grill with vegetable oil. Place patties onto the grill and cook, covered, until cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side; during last minute of cooking, top each burger with cheese and cover grill. Serve burgers on buns with desired toppings.
