Paper Flowers DIY

Paper Flower Bouquet DIY Craft

Materials:

  • watercolor paper (in whatever colors you desire)
  • watercolors
  • water
  • paint brush
  • pliers
  • craft wire
  • glue
  • scissors
  • awl
  • large circle hole punch

Instructions:

Step 1: Using your watercolors, paint the paper in the shades and patterns you like. I had a little help from my son in making mine.

Step 2: Use the hole punch to punch out large circles from watercolor-painted paper.

Step 3: Using your scissors, cut slits toward the middle of the circle, but without going all the way through past the center. You will need four slits, each equal distance apart.

Step 4: Fold the slits up and slightly overlapping creating a bowl or cup-like shape from the paper. Secure this by using your glue to adhere the paper.

Step 5: Make sure each slit is well attached and dried by pressing on the glued area. Allow glue to dry completely.

Step 6: Take the awl and poke a hole through the center of the paper to allow enough room for the wire stem.

Step 7: Take your pliers and wire and cut a few lengths of wire for the stems. Most sets of pliers have a cutting mechanism built in that is perfect for cutting wire.

Step 8: Curl one end of each wire stem using your pliers. This will create a stamen look on the inside of the flower and will keep the wire from slipping off the paper.

Step 9: Poke the wire through the hole you make with the awl.

You’re done! Arrange your new Paper Flower Bouquet. You can even spray the flowers with a perfume to make them smell good!
