DIY: Leather Key Fob

What you’ll need:

  • Piece of leather
  • Awl
  • Needle
  • Embroidery floss
  • Scissors
  • Key ring

Cut your leather to the length and width you would like. Keep in mind that this needs to fit onto a key ring, so try not to make it too wide.

Fold over the top of the leather and with the awl, mark holes going through the two layers of leather. Do this on both sides making four holes total.

You may want to push the four holes through with the awl separately depending on the leather you are using. Be sure to make the hole big enough to make the sewing part easier.

Thread your needle with the embroidery floss (or whatever you choose) and starting with the back, sew the folded over part down.

You’ll want to make sure to go through twice to ensure there is no gap that would allow the key ring to fall out.

Knot and trim off the thread, add the key ring and you’re done! Told you it was easy 🙂
