7 Helpful Tips To Plan Your Baby Shower

Planning a baby shower is just as complicated and nerve-wracking as planning a wedding. As an expecting mom, you have to ensure that you are comfortable throughout the function and that your guests have a good time during the celebration. While it is stressful to plan your baby shower, here are a few tips that can help you on your big day.

1. Set up a budget

Always start with setting up a budget for your baby shower. Communicate with your partner about the finances, and then start planning for the venue, decor, themes, guest list, games, etc. This will make it easier to understand where to splurge and where to save.

For instance, if your friend is offering to bake a cake for your celebration, you can instead use the cake money for decoration. Similarly, if your friend has agreed to click the photographs, you can spend that money on catering.

2. Finalize your guest list

The budget and the guest list go hand-in-hand. Always remember, more people means more spending on favors, food, etc. If you are tight on budget, keep the celebration intimate, inviting just your family and best friends.

If you are going all out and have no budget constraints, then feel free to call all your loved ones. Always check your guest list twice to ensure you are not missing out on someone important. Once done, send your invites via mail, messages, or in person as early as possible.

Do not forget to mention the date, time, and venue, setting it apart from the rest of the information to avoid confusion. Also, include the RSVP details and registry information in the invitation to avoid any last-minute chaos.

3. Choose your venue wisely

There might be many places where you can throw your baby shower. However, pick the one near your home that fits your budget. Before finalizing any fancy venue, consider your house for the celebration or ask your family members or friends if you can host your baby shower at their place or backyard. This way, you will save a lot, and the celebration will feel more intimate. So consider every option before finalizing the venue.

4. Decide the baby shower theme

With most things taken care of, now is the time to think of the theme. To make things easier for you, decide the theme based on the month, your and your partner’s favorite things and/or favorite colors, or something more personal.

You can have an animal-themed or a superhero-themed party if kids are invited. You can even ask your guests to come in comfy PJs if the baby shower is at your place or your friend’s backyard. Be creative and select the theme that best suits your personal preferences.

5. Include some games

Do not forget to add some fun games for your guests. Do some research on the internet, take ideas from your mom, sister, or friends, and plan fun and silly games that can engage people of all age groups. If your budget allows, keep small participation prizes for everyone.

6. Consider giving baby shower favors

Although not necessary, your guests will be pleased with this gesture. The favors do not have to be extravagant. You can opt for simple things like a scented candle, bath bombs, a jar of homemade cookies, potted plants, jams, or anything that goes with your baby shower theme.

7. Decide on the menu

Before deciding on the menu, ensure you know your guests’ food preferences. If not, ask them if they prefer vegetarian, vegan, or have any food restrictions.

The easiest way to collect this information is to ask them to RSVP with their food preferences, making it easier for you to have all the information in one place. This will make it easier for you to decide on the lavish spread for the baby shower. Although it is hard to make everyone happy, at least none of your guests will feel left out.

Planning your baby shower can be daunting, but it will be pretty breezy when done a few weeks in advance instead of at the last moment. So start planning your baby shower now and enjoy the celebration stress-free.
