Easter Sunday Wine Pairings

Easter Sunday menus tend to revolve around either an Easter Brunch or Easter Dinner.

Think eggs, quiche, ham and lamb! I have rounded up some of my favorite Easter Sunday recipes from all around the web and paired wines with each dish here. Just click on each link to check out the recipes!

Brunch Dishes

It is quite difficult to pair wine with eggs by themselves. But just by adding in delicious vegetables, herbs and well bacon, you can easily pair wine with eggs. My favorite wine to pair with brunch is sparkling wine. Try adding in a splash of orange juice or cranberry juice!

Ham Dishes

Ham dishes for Easter Sunday are usually sweet to balance out the saltiness of the meat. You therefore need a wine with enough sweet fruit and acidity to balance out the sweet and saltiness of the ham dishes.

Lamb Dishes

The best wines to pair with lamb dishes have nice tannin structure, good fruit and a finish that can last as long as the lamb itself. Since lamb has a pretty decent robust flavor, you want a wine that can stand up to it. The following wines have enough fruit and acidity to handle the flavors of the lamb, without overpowering it.
