Black and White But Never Boring

Let’s use the classic black and white palette to have a lesson and create a look that can go from shopping to luncheon to cocktails with a change of shoes!

There are a few simple approaches to mixing prints.  The first is to make sure you balance the boldness of the prints you are mixing.  Here the boldness and scale of the white dots are balanced by a wider, bold stripe in the sweater.

When you mix a bold print, keep your colorful accessories tailored and simple, but not too delicate – they’ll look a bit little girlish.  Here the on-trend envelope clutch is substantial enough to hold its own, but not compete with the rest of the outfit.  The pop of red is a natural pairing, oui?

A red lip won’t hurt here either.

The flexibility of this outfit is fantastic. Paired with a flat its a shopping adventure at your favorite boutiques.  Grab a heeled loafer for a luncheon options.  The sexy heeled pump takes you to cocktails with a flirty patent.  Want to throw some charm and fun in?  Find some red, silk floral shoe clips and dance the night away.

Clothing and cocktails – it’s all in how you mix them!
