DIY: Finish Line Centerpiece

Wow your kids with this quick and easy project for an upcoming birthday party.

  • 1/3 yard fabric
  • Mod Podge & brush
  • 36" 3/8" dowel (cut into 2 18" pieces)
  • Wax Paper
  • Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Red & blue spray paint
  • 2 wood toy wheels
  • 1 wood plaque

Cut the fabric into a 6" x 12" rectangle.  With the fabric on wax papaer, brush on a healthy amount of Mod Podge on the center of the wrong side of the fabric and put the dowel right in the center

Fold the fabric over and completely brush the mod podge on.  Flip over and brush.  Be liberal with it.

Allow to dry completely.

Meanwhile, paint the wooden pieces

Apply a generous amount of hot glue to the bottom of the wheel, keeping clear of the hole

Place on the wood plaque.  Repeat with the other wheel and allow to dry.  Insert the flags into each wheel hole.

You crossed the finish line!  Have a great party!
