2023 Oscar Nominated Films to Watch with the Family

Award season is here and the the 95th annual Oscars nominations were released in late January. Here’s a list of this year’s nominated films that would make for a great movie night with your family. The Oscars air on Sunday, March 12, 2023 on ABC.

Marcel the Shell with Shoes On

Marcel is an adorable, 1-inch-tall shell who ekes out a colorful existence with his grandmother, Connie, and their pet lint, Alan. Once part of a sprawling community of shells, they now live alone as the sole survivors of a mysterious tragedy. However, when a documentary filmmaker discovers them, the short film he posts online brings Marcel millions of passionate fans, as well as unprecedented dangers and a new hope of finding his long-lost family.

Turning Red

“Turning Red” introduces 13-year-old Mei Lee, a confident-but-dorky teenager torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. And as if changes to her interests, relationships and body weren’t enough, she also “poofs” into a giant red panda at decidedly inconvenient times.
