DIY Movie Night with Paddington Bear

I grew up reading Paddington Bear books, and I have always adored that little bear. I’ve read the books to my son too, so when the movie came out in cinemas we were the first ones in line to buy our tickets. (And yes, Paddington is as funny and cute on screen as he is in the books.) Now that the movie is coming out on DVD, we’re celebrating with a fun Paddington Bear-themed movie night at home:

Decor

These colourful balloons match Paddington’s cute little hat and coat.

Check out these fun sandwich toppers! (Of course, they work on other treats too, like pizza and cupcakes.) To make them, print out this PDF, cut out the little bears, and tape them to toothpicks or sticks (I use matches with the tops cut off).

Snacks

Paddington loves orange marmalade sandwiches, and so does my son.

You can’t make homemade orange marmalade without oranges!

Milk is a big hit with these striped straws

Don’t forget the Teddy Poms! I mean, so cute right? And popcorn — because who doesn’t love this classic movie snack?

After the movie is over, keep the fun going by helping your kids dress up like Paddington Bear. Make his hat, create his suitcase, and then make this cute label (below) for your kid’s tee shirt. And don’t forget his signature jacket!

Have a great night with your family and Paddington!
