Jennifer Aniston responds to Bill O'Reilly's criticism of her view on single parenting.
Earlier this week Jennifer talked about the fact that nowadays women have options when it comes to motherhood, and don't necessarily have to wait around for Mr. Right to start having children. She said: "Women are realizing it more and more, knowing that they don't have to settle with a man just to have that child," the actress told reporters. "Love is love and family is what is around you and who is in your immediate sphere." FOX's Bill O'Reilly lashed out, calling Jennifer's remarks "destructive to our society," and said that she was "diminishing the role of the dad."
Jennifer responded to his criticism yesterday via People magazine: "Of course, the ideal scenario for parenting is obviously two parents of a mature age. Parenting is one of the hardest jobs on earth," "And, of course, many women dream of finding Prince Charming (with fatherly instincts), but for those who've not yet found their Bill O'Reilly, I'm just glad science has provided a few other options."
Where do you stand on the issue? Do you think women should wait? Is it more widely accepted now for single women to adopt and/or use artificial insemination to have children?
