The American football quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, Josh Dobbs, recently suffered his first loss in the Week 11 game against the Denver Broncos. Since joining the team just before the NFL trade deadline, the star player has led the Minnesota Vikings to two wins over the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints. The Vikings traded for Joshua to replace Kirk Cousins after he was ruled out for the rest of the 2023 National Football League (NFL) season due to an Achilles tear (via Vikings).
In his three games with his current team, Joshua has completed 63 of his 96 passes for 647 yards and four touchdowns. Before the Vikings, Dobbs played with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, and Arizona Cardinals.
So far, Joshua’s NFL career has been phenomenal, and it wouldn’t be wrong to say his parents, Stephanie Dobbs and Robert Dobbs, have played a pivotal role in his career. They have been his support system through his high school sports days and have never missed any of his games to date. This has led to his fans being eager to know more about his parents, so here’s everything we know about Joshua Dobbs’ mom, Stephanie.
Who is Joshua Dobbs’ mom, Stephanie Dobbs?
Joshua Dobbs’ mom, Stephanie Dobbs, has African-American roots, and his dad, Robert Dobbs, has Caucasian ancestry. Stephanie retired from United Parcel Service (UPS) as a regional manager in corporate human resources (via ATBC).
They have always supported their only child, all the way since the time he began playing 65-pound football, basketball, and baseball at age 5. Recalling her son’s game, Stephanie told The Tennessean back in 2016, “It has flown by, but each of the games still feels to me like those very first ones…We have enjoyed and savored all of those and certainly will be really lucky to continue to savor each one that comes.”
Stephanie Is a Proud Mama
The mama is not just proud because of her son’s flourishing NFL career but also because he is an aeronautical engineer. He graduated with honors after finishing a five-year aeronautical engineering program in four years with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Not only that, Joshua even participated in an externship program at NASA during his NFL career (via Sportscasting).
However, all the success never got to Joshua’s head, as he has “always been a very humble” man who dearly loves his parents. Regarding his nature, Joshua Dobbs’ mom told The Tennessean that he is still the same person as when he was only five, exclaiming that “he’s the same Joshua as he was as a little boy playing sports.”
For Joshua, his parents mean the world to him. He believes that his journey wouldn’t have been the same without his parents’ support. The NFL star is grateful that he “has a really supportive family,” who never missed his games. In an interview with Star Tribune, Dobbs stated, “Whether it was travel baseball growing up, or Tennessee versus Oregon my freshman year in Eugene, Oregon…my parents were there supporting.”
