I love St. Patrick’s Day! All the vibrant colors make me happy and inspire my creativity, which is perfect for making holiday DIYs or crafts with my kids. This St. Paddy’s Day, try making this fun and colorful Rainbow Placemat for the little ones to enjoy. It’s a lot of fun, and it takes just a few minutes to make. The best part? It’s totally waterproof and easy to clean!
Supplies:
- watercolor paint in rainbow colors
- water
- thick paper
- paint brush
- ruler
- laminator (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: Use the ruler as a guide to keep your lines relatively straight and paint your stripes directly onto the paper! You will drips here and there on the paper, but that just adds to the rustic homemade look. I love that about this project.
Step 2: Let the paint dry completely.
Step 3: When it’s completely dry (wait a day just to be sure), use your lamintor to seal the placemat, or take the painted paper to a local print shop and have it hard laminated. It will cost very little and the hard lamination makes the place mat very sturdy and wipe-able! You can also use dry erase markers on them. So fun!
Set up your St. Patrick’s Day Treats and you’re good to go!
