Toy Tank Set Recalled for Burn Hazard

On January 25th, 2011, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Family Dollar Stores, Inc. announced a voluntary recall of their remote-controlled Authentic Heroes Target Practice Tank Play set.

 

What does this mean for you?

There is some potential for the tank’s controller to overheat and melt, posing a burn hazard to consumers. To date, Family Dollar has received approximately 5 reports of the controller overheating and melting, but no injuries have been reported at this time.

This remote controlled toy tank was manufactured in China and approximately 67,000 of them were distributed and sold at Family Dollar stores nationwide.

What should you do if you have purchased or own this product?

Consumers should take the toy away from children, remove the batteries and return the toy to a Family Dollar store for a full refund or for additional information, contact Family Dollar at (800) 547-0359 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, or visit the firm’s website at www.familydollar.com
