Mother of Terrence Clarke Receives Honorary 2022 All-Star Weekend Jersey

Osmine Clarke, mom of Terrence Clarke, has shared another touching remembrance of her late son. Clarke, a former Kentucky Wildcat, tragically passed away last year in a car accident. This, just a few months shy of the 2021 NBA Draft, a proud moment in a professional basketball career.

How the NBA Has Honored Terrence Clarke

Since Clarke’s death, the NBA has paid the talented athlete tremendous tribute. Formerly, Clarke was a guard for the Kentucky Wildcats. Until his life was cut short on April 22, 2021, in a Los Angeles car accident.

At the 2021 NBA draft, he was named an honorary pick post-humously, reports TMZ Sports. His family, including his mom, Osmine, were brought on stage to accept his draft hat on his behalf. An emotional moment that would have been a crowning achievement for Clarke.

Additionally, the League collaborated with the Celtics to completely renovate the Boston Centers for Youth and Families in Clarke’s name. Formative for Clarke, the center is where he grew up, shooting hoops. Featured on the renovated court are Clarke’s initials, his jersey number, and a quote of his, which reads, “I want to be that guy for everyone in the city.”

Now, the NBA honors Clarke further by extending his mom an honorary Rising Star jersey for the 2022 All-Star Weekend. Osmine shared the touching tribute via Instagram, writing, “Thanks to Klutch team for sending me T’s jerseys. I’m so sorry he wasn’t able to showcase his talent before leaving us.”
