Pastels are all the rage right now, so I thought it would be fun to tie this color trend into an easy DIY idea. Plus, this project is totally giftable as well. Right? Right!

So, add those together and what do you have? Color blocked marble pastel coasters that can be given as a set to a girlfriend (or kept for yourself to freshen up your coffee table).

Ready to get started? Here’s what you’ll need…

Supplies for DIY Painted Pastel Marble Geo Coasters

Supplies:

  • marble coasters (I used a set from West Elm.)
  • acrylic paint
  • paintbrush
  • painter’s tape
  • sealant

Instructions:

Tape coasters with painter's tape.

Step 1: Start by taping each coaster with painter’s tape. I taped each one at a different place on the coaster to give the set a little more variety.

Step 2: Paint one section of each coaster that is taped off. Wait for that first coat to dry, then add a second coat of paint, if necessary.

Step 3: To add a second color, paint the opposite side of tape with a different color, just like you did the first. Then add a second coat, once dry, if necessary.

Remove tape from paint coasters.

Step 4: Once all of the paint is completely dry, remove the tape. Then, add a sealant before using.
