These Baked Apple Fritters Make The Most Of Fresh-Picked Apples
Baked apple fritters are one of our favorite fall treats.Tart granny smith apples are enveloped in a cinnamon batter and then baked on a cookie sheet until golden brown. A powdered sugar glaze adds the finishing touch. These fritters make a great after-school snack or dessert.

This recipe makes a small batch of six. Because if you’re like me, you have no self control when there are treats like these at your house. You can double the batch and freeze leftovers in a Ziploc bag for up to 3 months. I used all-purpose white flour but if you wanted to you could totally use whole wheat white flour.

Servings: 6
Ingredients:
all-purpose flour: 3/4 cup
white sugar: 1/4 cup
baking powder: 1 tsp
salt: 1/4 tsp
cold butter: 3 Tbsps
vanilla: 1/2 tsp
egg: 1 large
Greek yogurt: 1/3 cup
granny smith apple: 1, chopped
powdered sugar: 1 cup
milk: 2 Tbsps
Directions:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 ° F. Prepare a cookie sheet by lining it with parchment paper, using a silicone baking mat or spraying with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 2: In a mixing bowl whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender or a fork.
Step 3: In a small bowl whisk together the vanilla, egg and yogurt. Add this mixture into the flour mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in the apples.
Step 4: Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup scoop a heaping portion onto the cookie sheet. Form into a large circle-like shape. Repeat 5 more times until all the batter is used.
Step 5: Bake for 13-16 minutes, until the tops start to brown.
Step 6: While the fritters are cooling, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until a glaze forms. Drizzle the glaze over each of the fritters.
Enjoy! Freeze leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
