This banner will look awesome hung up on their wall or it can be made up as a special party banner.
So here’s what you’ll need to get you going:
- Watercolor paper
- Watercolor paints
- Paint brush
- Large hole punch
- Double sided tape
- String
- Scissors
Punch out your circles from the watercolor paper. You can use thinner paper, but it might not hold up as well with the paint.
Once you have all the circles punched out, lay them out for painting!
I put down an oilcloth table cloth that I use for messy crafts with my son. But if it’s an older kid, you might not need/want to worry about it.
We went the oh so fabulous splatter technique. My son loved it! Just dip your brush in the water, then the paint choice. hold the paint brush over the circles and tap the brush. The colorful splatters will thrill your little one.
Let them fully dry.
Then fold them into halves – to get the scalloped look.
Cut your length of string, making sure to give yourself enough string on the ends to hang the banner when it’s finished.
Use the double sided tape to secure the paper around the string.
Once you have finished that, your new kid made banner is ready to hang!
