Video of Baby Babbling in Sign Language Is Too Cute To Miss

Parenting looks different for everyone, and this Ohio mom is sharing her motherhood journey as a mom of two deaf sons and a hearing daughter. In a video that is unquestionably too cute to miss, Felicia Aquilo captured her baby girl’s babble in sign language. While the kid’s signs were unclear, the post sparked a conversation about “learning a second language right from birth.” Commenters lauded the parents for attempting to teach ASL to the child so she could converse with her hard-of-hearing brothers.

Baby babbles in sign language in adorable video

This video of a baby babbling in sign language conveyed the message that development starts at an early age. Additionally, it also implied that the things kids learn at a young age often influence their choices. Felicia Aquilo, a mom of three, shared the clip of her baby girl making efforts to start a conversation using sign language. Aquilo recorded her daughter sitting on a kids’ sofa when she started making signs using her tiny little fingers. Although her gestures seemed unclear, it was the thought that counted.

In the text over the video, the mom explained from her baby’s POV, “When you’re the hearing sister of two deaf brothers.” A side note at the bottom of the text revealed that it was entirely a baby babble convo but in sign language. The months-old girl, wearing her tiny pajamas and looking adorable, repeated the same signs using her fingers a couple of times. She also had the cutest smile on her face, evidently looking excited to try something new.

The baby’s sign language babble video got commenters talking about how “awesome” it was that she began learning at such an early age. One user rightly noted, “She’s learning a second language right from birth. This is awesome.” Another person commented, “she’s just mimicking what she sees,” and found the kid “very cute” while someone wrote what she signed, “Asking for milk right?” Many users shared their own experiences and others asked for recommendations for their kids.
