Coca-Cola Recalls 2000 Soda Cases

It was recently revealed that Coca-Cola recalled about 2000 soda cases due to potential contamination. The recalled cases consist of Diet Coke, Sprite, and Fanta Orange. The operation started on Nov. 6, 2023, and took place in the states of Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida (via USA Today).

Is your little one a big fan of soda? Then this is something you might be interested in. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released an enforcement report, noting that the 12-pack soda cases might be contaminated with “potential foreign material.”

United Packers, based in Mobile, Alabama, initiated the Coca-Cola recall. Reportedly, the operation is already complete, and no cans left in the market are affected by contamination (via NBC News).

The FDA report didn’t specify what the contaminant could be and the potential risks for consumers who did get their hands on it. However, it was reported that the Diet Coke cans had a best-by date of Jan. 29, 2024, while the Fanta Orange and Sprite aluminum cans had a best-by date of July 29, 2024 (via CBS News).

Coca-Cola had a similar product recall in 2021. The operation was held for their Minute Maid products. The reason behind the recall was similar: a potential risk of foreign objects (metal bolts and washers, to be specific).
