Farmland Adventure App

App Review: Gnomie Farmland Adventure

This interactive story app introduces kids to the traditional American farm story in a way that speaks to the digital generation. In the About section we learn that Gnomie remembers fondly nights that his mother read to him as a young Gnome and it was that idea that the team at Gnomie Inc. was tasked with bringing to modern devices. The team has definitely succeeded.

Some of the highlights are hand drawn illustrations that jump off the screen, original music and best of all…customizable narration. The “Read Me a Story” feature is super cool, allowing parents to record their own voices for the story. This reminds me of when I was little and my mother would record herself reading books to me on tape, I know I am dating myself, but it was such a comfort when I had a baby sitter and I see this being the modern day version.

Farmland Adventure AppThe app teaches kids the names of farm animals, in seven languages no less, plus the sounds they make, and the jobs they are tasked with on the farm.  With an easy interactivity kids can “wander” through the farm with parents and then on their own learning as they go.

The Gnomie Farmland Adventure App is available for the IPhone, and IPad at the App Store and for the Android at the Google Play store
