Rosie O'Donnell is heading back to daytime television on Oprah Winfrey's new network.
Eight years after leaving her first daytime talk show, Rosie is once again going to be hosting her own show. It was announced yesterday that she has developed a talk show for Oprah's OWN network and it will begin sometime next year. Oprah said in a statement: "Rosie is an undeniable talent who has captivated TV audiences for nearly 20 years," "She's a true original, who brings her authentic voice, dynamic energy and pure passion to everything she does."
Rosie has been hosting a radio program on Sirius, guest-starred on several TV shows, and is currently filming a documentary called "The Business of Charity", but she hasn't starred on a chat-style show since her short stint on "The View". She says she's looking forward to her return: "It's an honor and a privilege to work with Oprah Winfrey on her network," says O'Donnell. "I'm excited to be back on daytime television."
Were you a fan of Rosie's original talk show? I remember watching in high school (and beyond). I can't get over long it's been – her son Parker (pictured below) was merely a toddler back then!
