Emily Blunt Won’t Compromise on This Parenting Ritual as a Working Mom

Emily Blunt is one busy working mom, but when it comes to parenting, she strictly follows one nightly ritual to maintain the work-life balance with her kids. Despite having a hectic schedule, the actor makes sure to come back home to tuck her little ones into bed as she believes it is an “essential anchor” in their relationship.

Emily Blunt reveals she doesn’t want to miss out on ‘bedtime’ with kids

No matter how busy Emily Bunt is, there is one parenting ritual that she abides by. She never misses out on bedtime with daughters, Hazel and Violet, whom she shares with her husband, John Krasinski. While speaking about creating the balance, “The Devil Wears Prada” star revealed to Net-a-Porter that amid all the work, she makes it a point to be home by her kids’ bedtime to chit-chat with them.

She said that once her little ones start to find her “repellent” or that she “doesn’t reign supreme,” she will still continue to follow it since she feels “bedtime is this essential anchor.” The “Oppenheimer” actor even suggested that one should not miss those “10-minute chats where they tell you everything” about their day or life.

Blunt has always been vocal about her parenting style. Even during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the mom of two revealed yet another rule that she follows with her daughters. She ensures she is never away from her kids for more than a fortnight since it is “still rough on them” when she has to “go away.”

The Golden Globe Award winner further added that she made this conscious decision because “there are cornerstones of the girls’ day” that she does not “want to compromise on.” So, when the girls ask her, “Will you wake me up, take me to school, pick me up and put me to bed?” the 42-year-old actor just wants to say, “Yes, yes, yes.” She admitted, “It’s such an exhale for me to be able to do that.”

Blunt and Krasinski met through mutual friends and started dating in 2008. The couple got engaged in 2009 and said ‘I do’ a year later. They welcomed their eldest daughter, Hazel, in 2014 and their second child, Violet, in 2016.
