Over the past five years or so, Siedentopf has expanded his artistic reach from photography to more tactile creations such as “The Multipurpose Brick®”. His latest project, “Slapdash Supercars”, required some input from his Amsterdam neighbors though all they had to do was park on the street.

Imagine the car-owners’ surprise when they returned to their vehicles only to find they had been modified into scooped, finned, winged and ground-effected supercars! Now imagine their bemusement when a closer inspection revealed all of Siedentopf’s upgrades had been effected using cardboard and tape. Cool to be sure and environmentally-friendly as a bonus!

That’s what the “slapdash” in “Slapdash Supercars” means – the, er, performance modifications took mere minutes to make and no attempts were made to paint or otherwise help the add-ons blend in to the vehicles’ factory bodywork. That’s just as well, seeing as a modicum of shock and awe was all Siedentopf asked of the car-owners… that, and a photo of each finished art object before returning the cars to their original states.
