Celebrity dad Brad Pitt is a very successful actor and film producer who has been involved in films since 1987. Born William Bradley Pitt of Shawnee, Oklahoma on December 18, 1963, his mother Jane was a school teacher, and his father William Pitt, was a truck company owner. He was raised alongside his two siblings Julie and Doug. Soon after Pitt was born, his family moved to Springfield, Missouri where he was raised.
In school, he was a member of the swimming, tennis, and golf teams at Kickapoo High School where he was a student. After graduating high school, Pitt felt very deeply about going to college, so he decided to enroll at the University of Missouri. Brad always had a love for films and realized he needed to move from Missouri to pursue his dream, so two weeks before graduating he moved to Los Angeles where he worked odd jobs and took acting lessons.
He caught a break in 1988 and starred in a film called, “The Dark Side of the Sun”. The film did give him some notoriety, but not as much as his 1991 movie “Thelma & Louise”. He went on to star in hit films such as “Interview with a Vampire”, “Legends of the Fall”, “Se7en”, and “Twelve Monkeys” – for which he earned an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor.
Brad’s career took off and as he rose to fame, so did his personal life. In 1999 he met television sweetheart Jennifer Aniston, and in 2000 they privately wed. He continued to star in A-List films from 2000 to 2004, but it was the film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” in which he co-starred with Angelina Jolie that caused the biggest stir in his private life and created a media frenzy. In 2005 Brad and Jennifer announced their separation amidst rumors that Brad and Angelina had fallen for one another. Jennifer and Brad’s divorce was finalized in October 2005, and in early 2006 Jolie announced she was carrying Brad’s child, which actually confirmed the relationship between the two.
Pitt has made many movies since, and during this time has become a devoted partner to Angelina and father to their six children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne. He and Angelina are one of the most sought-after celebrities by the paparazzi and a source of constant rumors in the tabloids.
Brad is a humanitarian, giving much of his time and money to help with the redevelopment of New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, and by giving food and money for the victims of Haiti earth quake disaster.
Brad has been nominated for 1 Academy Award and 3 Golden Globe Awards with one win so far.
