How to Wear Less Makeup – and Look Flawless

I was in 7th grade when I first noticed that nearly all the other girls in my class were wearing bras, and, well…I just didn’t need one yet, and kept forgetting to wear mine. Of course, I had already gone out and gotten a few, but that was mostly because I wanted to be like my friends, and not because there was all that much that needed support. I felt frustrated that I couldn’t manage to remember to put it on every day and I sincerely wondered how girls had already incorporated this new step into their morning routine.

I recall asking my mother, “How can I remember to wear my bra every day?”

My mom smiled and replied: “Oh honey, when you need one, you will not forget.”

And so it goes with makeup, too, in a way. By that I mean: when I was much, much younger, I truly didn’t need to wear any at all—and certainly didn’t ever wear foundation. It was just lip gloss, mascara, and go.

But a bunch of years down the line and I like to look a bit more pulled together. I rely on the literal and metaphorical support that makeup can provide—reducing the appearance of dark spots and fine lines, and providing brighter, more even skin-tone all over—without looking all that different and working that much harder than I did when I was able to skip this step. Naturally flawless: two words that every woman can get behind!!

And thankfully, the new bareMinerals® bareSkin™ Pure Brightening Serum Foundation makes achieving a healthy glow seriously, deliriously easy—even for someone as time-pressed and reluctant to wear a lot of makeup as me. Guess how many drops you need to use? Just one or two! If that’s not minimalistic makeup, I don’t know what is. (The fact that this product is such a star is hardly a surprise given this brand’s legacy of skin-perfecting genius.)

Application is simple:

  1. Shake the bareSkin™ Foundation well
  2. Drop 1-2 weightless drops onto the Perfecting Face Brush
  3. Buff into skin using a circular motion

The foundation is completely buildable – start with one drop for light coverage, and add more as needed to achieve the coverage you want.  Easy.
