We’ve started a brand new Instagram project and we hope you’ll join us. It’s a fun way to record all the joyful, challenging, fun, disastrous days we have as a mum. Each day we’ll give you a new prompt to inspire your picture-taking, but you might choose to simply commit to posting one photo a day that captures your day.
How the daily prompts work
The prompts will be lots of fun, perhaps inspiring you to see motherhood from a different angle or attitude. The daily prompt and photo will add a simple, achievable goal for you each day. Something to add a little zest and creativity to your mum days. It’s also a fantastic way to record your daily life when the kids are small (or big!).
The prompts also help us come together as a #365Mumtastic community. Posting around a theme each day opens up discussion and comment. We are so looking forward to seeing the clever and creative ways that mums interpret each prompt. Of course, if the prompts are not for you, please still tag your daily photo with the hashtag and share in the fun.
Do you have an Instagram account already?
If you do, it’s super-easy to get involved. Simply check the daily prompt (see below for this month’s prompts), take your picture, post it to your account and use the hashtag #365mumtastic. When you use the hashtag, every other mum who is taking part in the challenge will be able to find your photo and share in your day. You might even find a few new Insta-buddies when you connect through your image.
If you don’t have an Instagram account
It’s easy to set one up, just follow these instructions (supplied by Instagram):
- Download the Instagram app for iOS from the App Store, Android from Google Play Store or Windows Phone from the Windows Phone Store.
- Once the app is installed, tap
to open it. - Tap Sign Up, then enter your email address and tap Next. You can also tap Log in with Facebook to sign up with your Facebook account.
- If you register with email, create a username and password, fill out your profile info and then tap Done. If you register with Facebook, you’ll be prompted to log into your Facebook account if you’re currently logged out.
You can set your account to “Private” if you prefer, but remember that if your account is private, we won’t be able to see your #365mumtastic hashtag on the public page. Only the people you select to view your account will be able to see your #365mumtastic photos. You can find out more about Instagram Privacy settings here.
