Each month we bring you an A4 printable calendar for you to download and print to help you simplify and organise the month ahead. There’s room for adding your own activities plus loads of ideas to help you have the best month possible. Last month’s calendar is here.
The October calendar is packed with dinner ideas, fun activities and meaningful ways to connect with family and friends.
Featured Dinner Ideas
Healthy Chicken Skewers – there’s a trick to making these super quick.
Miso Garlic and Ginger Tofu – Japanese flavours bring this vegetarian dish to life.
Italian Baked Chicken and Beans – A one-dish, healthy meal that’s full of classic Italian flavours.
Mustard Salmon – Add a little zing to plain tray-baked salmon.
Salisbury Steak and Potatoes – an old classic that deserves a place back at the table.
Skinny Baked Chicken Fajitas – homemade Mexican is surprisingly easy to do.
Corn and Zucchini Pasta – A surprising hit with the kids.
Treats Too (Because Life Needs Treats, Right?)
Honey Jumbles – a classic kids’ favourite that are really fun for them to make (there’s a cute video to follow to make it easy).
Fruit Rollups – once you’ve made a batch of these, you won’t go back to the plastic store-bought kind.
Oven-Baked Polenta Fries – a tops after-school snack and not too bad for you.
Pear and Sultana Crumble – ooooh so good.
Activities for the Kids
Chalk the Footpath – chalk is the best fun, especially as it’s so easy to wash away the scribbles. If you have a footpath out the front of your house, the kids will enjoy decorating it!
Splash Tub – now that the weather is getting warmer, this couldn’t be easier for hours of fun.
Marbles – one for older kids (or very, very supervised smaller kids). How long since you’ve played a proper game of marbles? Do you remember how we were all addicted to them at school?
Ice Tower Excavation – take this one outside or set it up in the bathtub for a rainy day activity that will help the kids keep their cool.

Ideas to Bring Friends and Family Together
Pot Luck Picnic – the US concept of a ‘pot luck’ dinner works so well as a picnic. Ask your friends to each bring a dish to share, spread out a giant blanket and enjoy each other’s company while the kids run wild.
Working Bee – there are so many jobs we all want to get done before summer and inviting your buddies over to help you out is the way to do it. Get a group of four families together and each host a working bee one weekend of the month. By the end of the month, everyone will have all their jobs done with the benefit of bringing your families even closer.
Visit an Art Gallery – catch up with a friend and some culture at the same time. A shared visit is a lovely way to reconnect with someone you have been wanting to see for ages.
Movie Date – hire a sitter or cajole a friend and head out for a mid-week movie with your man. Or try one of these other date night ideas.
