Where to Buy the Best Denim for Under $100

I don’t think there’s any mom out there who doesn’t own at least one pair of jeans. I’m really picky about the jeans I buy: not only does my denim need to meet the demands of my everyday life, but they’ve got to look current and classic all at the same time. Even more, I hate to spend a fortune on my jeans.

Over the years I’ve scoured the web for the best places to buy denim for under $100; now and then many of these retailers even like to throw in great coupons to add to my savings.

Kohl’s

I discovered the joy of shopping at Kohl’s a couple of years ago when I was introduced to Kohl’s Cash. When your Kohl’s Cash is valid, that’s the best time to shop for denim for the entire family because they basically give you free money to shop there and you can get two items for the price of one. Kohl’s has all the denim brands I love for virtually half the price we’d pay anywhere else.

If you’re shopping at Kohl’s, make sure you sign up for the FREE Kohl’s Yes2You Rewards program, which gives you one point for every dollar you spend, whether you pay in cash or credit. For every 100 points you accumulate, you get a $5 reward coupon, It’s a win-win shopping at Kohl’s.

Old Navy

Old Navy is one of the best places to get on-trend styles for your whole family on a budget. When it comes to shopping for denim, fit is everything, and Old Navy is consistent in their sizing. Old Navy also lets you choose between petite, regular, or tall inseam and a low-rise, mid-rise, or high-rise waist so you can truly find your perfect pair of jeans. Once you know your size, it’s easy to shop online with them and receive 20 to 40% off your entire purchase with coupon codes. Make sure you’re on their email list to keep up to date on the sale of the day.

GAP

My favorite pair of jeans came from Gap eight years ago. It’s one of my favorite places to go for classic denim styles that will stand the test of time. While denim trends come and go,I recommend shopping Gap for your everyday classic styles. Like its sister store, Old Navy, Gap has great coupon codes that come out weekly with everything from discounts on your whole purchase, discounts on certain items like denim, or free shipping. Make sure you’re on the email list to take advantage of the discounts, especially during the holidays.

Forever 21

To shop the latest trends, Forever 21 is the best place to go. You can take your whole budget of $100 and almost buy two complete outfits to mix-and-match. To shop for denim on the site, you’ll want to be aware that the sizing does run similar to juniors sizes and to order at least one size up if not two. You’ll find a great pair of jeans in a trendy style, and you won’t feel guilty if your toddler drops chocolate on them because they were such a great price!

JCPenney

JCPenney is like a hidden gem for denim styles. You can get great deals for what’s on trend in denim for the season like prints and colored denim. If you’re looking for a denim update but not sure what’s in style this season, view JCPenney’s People StyleWatch partnership page, which lists editor favorites and ideas for creating stylish looks with denim and other seasonal items from JCPenney’s current inventory.

Walmart

When I find a great deal on something, I love to shout it from the rooftops. Everyone should know that Walmart is one of the best places to get a great pair of jeans for less than $20! Yes, $20 equals four lattes at my favorite coffee shop—and believe me, the jeans will last much longer than the lattes. You can get just the wash and fit you need for your body type in the latest styles like boot cut, skinny, or straight leg. They also have a great selection of plus-size jeans that are super stylish and on trend for the season.

Target

Another one of my favorite places to shop for family denim, Target always has the latest styles for half the price. Target is always running specials like buy one, get one pair at 50% off or offering free shipping for orders over $49, so make sure you check their website frequently or sign up for their emails to take advantage of the savings they offer. Plus-size, tall, and petite sizes are offered in almost all their denim lines. However, be aware that some of the trendier denim styles are juniors sizing and you’ll need to readjust your size to reflect that.

American Eagle Outfitters (AE)

Most people don’t think of American Eagle Outfitters for buying their denim, but you can get a great pair of jeans for less than $50. With 13 different styles to choose from like jeggings, skinny fit, the artist, and the boyfriend, AE is a great place to find the perfect pair of jeans. The online site is a great place to shop because there is no guessing on the fit or size as they carefully list out each measurement of the jean. For example, the Hi-Rise Artist jean comes in a HI 9.25-inch rise and a 22-inch flare leg opening. It makes jean shopping online really easy with (hopefully!) no returns due to fit.
