Charlie Hunnam Explains Why He Had To Back Out Of Fifty Shades Of Grey Movie

Charlie Hunnam announced his exit from the Fifty Shades of Grey movie just two weeks ago and is now giving us a glimpse at why.  Rumors have been rampant about the reason for Charlie’s abrupt exit after he gushed about how happy he was to have landed the role of Christian Grey.  Some speculated that he wanted more say in the script rewrites, some thought he was overwhelmed by the attention and others claimed it was a scheduling conflict.  That last part is sort of true.

Charlie, who lost his father in May, spoke out last night for the first time at a charity, sharing that it’s a family thing.  “I have had some family stuff going on so just trying to stay focused and stay positive and keep trying to do a good job at work and be with my family and stay positive. I’ve got some family stuff I have to tend to. So when I wrap the show, I am going to go to England and see my people and then I have a film that I am doing with Guillermo [del Toro]. So I am going to go and do that and concentrate on the final seasons of Sons.”

The producers have yet to decide on a replacement for Charlie, but we have some great suggestions

Who would you like to see take over the role of Christian?
