We chose Cree as my son’s name because The “C” represents the C in CORY (my husband’s name). When we were looking at baby names, Cory told me it was really important to him that our son have a name that represented “strength”. We learned that “Cree” was the name of a Native American tribe made up of people who were known for being warriors and traveling across the globe.

Tia Mowry is Momtastic's July 2016 guest editor. The actress, who became a pop culture icon in the ‘90s when she starred opposite her twin sister Tamera in the comedy “Sister Sister,” recently wrapped the second season of her Cooking Channel series, “Tia Mowry at Home.” She also recently launched a popular podcast “Mostly Mom,” as well as sold an untitled comedy project to Nickelodeon.

During the six-year run of “Sister Sister,” Mowry won two NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series and three Kids Choice Awards for Favorite Television Actress. You may have also seen her in the Disney Channel’s original movie Twitches, the multi-network comedy series “The Game,” and the Lifetime movie Double Wedding. In 2011, she and her sister launched the STYLE Network series, “Tia and Tamera.”

Off-camera, Tia spends time working with several charities, including the Make A Wish Foundation and the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Additionally, she is the author of Oh Baby!: Pregnancy Tales and Advice from One Hot Mama to Another and Twintuition, and the creator of two yoga DVDs. Born in Germany, Tia now lives in Los Angeles with her husband, actor Cory Hardrict, and their son Cree Taylor.
