Hideaway: Tiny Green Home Makes The Un-Scene

This Year’s Models

HIdeaway: Tiny Green Home Makes The Un-Scene

The Disappear Retreat project was first announced in mid-2017. Real-world, on site prototype testing and subsequent evaluation is ongoing at press time with results and metrics to be revealed later in 2018. COULSON is planning on building and installing a variety of prototypes in a forest situated near Grand Marais, Minnesota. The models would then function as information centers demonstrating the ins and outs of sustainable building while at the same time, potential buyers will be able to “test-drive” (or should that be “test-live”) the essential design by arranging overnight stays in the model of their choice.

Sustainable Yet Attainable

Though the cost to the environment is certainly low, there are costs involved… monetary ones. COULSON estimates that production Disappear Retreats will be available for purchase sometime in 2019 although pre-order inquiries are currently open. Sticker prices will range from $25,000 to $45,000 each, reflecting Carly Coulson’s wish to ensure these sustainable home designs are attainable to as many interested parties as possible.
