All through the design process, Altor held to a well-known and effective philosophy: KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid). To that end, the 560G offers users an incredibly simple lock-up experience. No keys are required – instead, the 560G features an easy to find and use push button. Unlocking is done WITH a key. The system simplifies commuting without compromising security, a feature that’s especially appealing to time-challenged bike couriers. “We wanted the arrival process to be as simple as possible,” states Luke Sahagian, Altor’s Marketing Director. “I can’t tell you how many times I personally have been late or missed a train because I was fumbling with a U-Lock or chain.”

The 560G bicycle lock is not quite ready for prime time though at press time its Kickstarter campaign has nearly doubled its original goal with weeks to spare. Interested bicyclists will be able to pre-order the 560G at the company website after the campaign ends; production-spec locks will be shipped in the summer of 2016. Thanks to Altor’s efforts, environmentally-friendly urban commuting may evolve from Good Luck to Good Lock. (images and info via Altor; supplied by WENN.com)
