My Top 5 Favourite Pieces of Advice for Mums-to-Be

It’s definitely the most exciting news I’ve ever received, but it’s also overwhelming. Thank goodness for my girlfriends and their brilliant words of wisdom:

1. Focus on being comfortable

The only item of maternity wear I’ve bought is maternity jeans. (I have just been buying clothes in a larger size.) My girlfriend told me to get them at the beginning of my pregnancy and thank goodness because they have been the best investment! I love Topshop’s Leigh maternity jeans.

2. Cherish every moment

The time goes by in the blink of an eye and being pregnant is a pretty amazing experience. Can you believe our bodies can do this?

3. Spend extra time with your partner

Whether it’s enjoying a date night, going on a hike, or taking a babymoon, the two of you need to get in your alone time before baby makes three.

4. Sleep now!

I hear I won’t be getting much sleep when my baby comes, so this is great advice for me — but I’ve had a hard time following it!  I’m still buzzing around like a crazy lady at 2 a.m. worrying about what’s left to do to prepare for my baby’s arrival.

5. Talk to your baby

Clark, my boyfriend, does this all the time. It’s so cute! Every night he talks to my belly and sings the song “Do You Want To Build a Snowman?” from Frozen. Our baby will either come out knowing all the words or never want to hear it again!

My absolute favourite:

EAT WHATEVER YOU WANT!
