Country Singer Mindy McCready Commits Suicide, Leaving Behind Two Young Sons

Country singer Mindy McCready has died from an apparent suicide at the age of 37.

The past few years have been tumultuous for Mindy, as she battled drugs, alcohol and several previous suicide attempts.  Mindy had recently spiraled after her boyfriend, David Wilson, allegedly killed himself on January 13th – his death is still under investigation.  In early February Mindy’s family went to court to request an emergency order to send Mindy to a treatment facility.  The news broke tonight, via a close friend of the singer, that she had taken her own life.

Mindy is best known for her country music career, which brought her several top ten hits such as “Ten Thousand Angels”, “Guys Do It All The Time” and more.

Mindy leaves behind two young sons, Zander, 6, and Zayne, 10 months.

Such a tragic ending. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.
