Table Accessories for Informal Holiday Entertaining

While I can totally appreciate the elegant look of a painstakingly assembled formal holiday table with all the gold and glitter, what I enjoy even more, is owning a few special table accessories so that I can quickly pull together an informal gathering when friends drop by, and yet still make it feel special. And even better is that these accessories look great at the holidays, but they can be used year round too.

altAs almost any chef will tell you, food presents the best on a simple white dinner plate, so you can’t go wrong if you begin with this Sausalito Dinnerware. I love it’s hand hewn look and it’s styling is timeless, so you can keep it forever, or pass it on to the next generation. So if you begin with this classic white dinnerware, you’ll be off to a good start on setting your informal holiday table.

Many of you are probably already well acquainted with Zara, who first opened their clothing stores in Spain and are now well represented throughout the world. I’ve long been a fan of their clothing, so I was thrilled to hear that they’ve opened a Zara Home division and that’s where I found these fantastic Cutwork Chipboard Placemats. These will definitely add a unique touch of rustic elegance to almost any table and will look great contrasted with almost any solid color dinnerware.

The subtle detailing found on this 5 piece Dandelion Greens Flatware place setting is great because you can either play up it’s vintage vibe or lean it more towards the contemporary by pairing it up with more modern dinnerware. And it’s made from stainless steel so it’s dishwasher safe, super easy to maintain and is versatile enough that it crosses generations.

I have to admit, I’ve been admiring these Fleur de Lys glasses for quite sometime, but haven’t yet had the chance to add them to my own dinnerware collection. But if I did own these, I would love to use them everyday and on the days when I set my table for when friends stop by at the holidays. They’re available in a couple of sizes in these cool colors as shown or also in classic clear glass too. Don’t you love it when glassware is versatile enough to be used everyday, but also transitions over easily to more special occasions too?
