These sweet potato bites for baby is an easy recipe that babies can grasp and eat on their own.
Sweet Potato Bites for Baby
My son loved these as a wholesome, naturally sweet alternative to baby cereal.
- mashed sweet potato (boil fresh chunks until tender, mash with a bit of water until smooth): 3/4 cup
- vegetable oil: 3 Tablespoons
- water: 2 Tablespoons
- unsweetened natural apple sauce: 1 Tablespoon
- cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
- baby cereal: 1 cup
- brown sugar: 1 tablespoon
- flour: 1/2 cup
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Mix mashed sweet potatoes, oil and water in a medium size bowl or measuring cup.
Step 3: Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon.
Step 4: Stir in remaining dry ingredients. The dough should be sticky and begin pulling away from the side of your mixing bowl. Add more cereal or flour if your dough seems too wet.
Step 5: Pipe small ‘dots’ of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet using a piping tip (or plastic baggie with tip cut off) with a large opening.
Step 6: Bake for 15 min. Bake longer if you would like a crispier result or shorten the bake time if you would rather a softer, chewier result.
