MargaritasWith summer around the corner it is time to start thinking of bbq’s, hot dogs and outdoor entertaining. This is my go-to Margarita recipe that was given to me by my friend Char.

I often make two versions, one alcoholic, one non-alcoholic. It is as simple as omitting the liquor. The kids love the virgin variety, while we like it doctored up!

  • 2 cups cubed watermelon
  • 1 cup tequila
  • ½ cup lime juice
  • ½ cup triple sec
  • ¼ cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 3 cups crushed iced

For a Non-Alcoholic version, substitute sparkling water for the tequila and triple sec!

  1. Puree watermelon until liquid. Strain liquid to remove extra pulp and seeds.
  2. Add juice, tequila, lime juice, triple sec, sugar and ice. Mix well. Add sugar. Mix again. Serve.
