Yogurt Cereal Power Breakfast

Yogurt Cereal Power Breakfast

Did you know that if you add your own sweetener to a non-sugar yogurt, the sugar content is much lower?  It's true!  (Unless of course you add way too much — don't do that, just follow my measurements below!)

This is one healthy, energizing, power breakfast, and my four-year old son absolutely loves it!

You can add any cereal you'd like, but I suggest one with low or no sugar added — let's keep it as healthy as we can.  My boys love it with gluten-free Rice Chex.

I know, I know, you get it . . . I'm really into peanut flour.  And as you know, it's because peanut flour is delicious in recipes like this.  It's composed of "defatted," finely ground roasted peanuts, has even more protein than dry roasted peanuts, and it's also gluten-free (as are my oldest son and husband)!

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup non-fat plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar or honey
  • 1 tablespoon peanut flour
  • 1 tablespoon flax meal
  • 1/2 cup fresh berries
  • 1/2 cup cereal

Simply mix all of the ingredients together in a serving bowl! Serves 1
