Her new bangs were the talk of the Inauguration, the First Lady jokes, “This is my mid-life crisis, the bangs. I couldn't get a sports car. They won't let me bungee jump. So instead, I cut my bangs.”
She admits she's a movie buff and shares who she's cheering for on Sunday, "You know, we usually host the governors here, so we always miss the Oscars, but I will be rooting in spirit. I've seen almost all of the movies, except for a few."
Her favorites, "Of course, love Lincoln; the family watched that. Malia and I just saw Argo a couple of weeks ago – loved that. One of our family favorites is Beasts of the Southern Wild. This has been a great year in movies, so I don't think we can have a loser."
The First Lady also shared with Rachael what she keeps in her office at The White House, “Of course I have tons of pictures in my office, and [holding up photo] this is actually Sasha’s lower school graduation. So she has her little flowers…And, you know, Malia looks much older than I’d like her to look…And one of the things I love, one of my most valued possessions, are my collection of military coins. [Holding up coin] This just happens to be one of them, but I have several. Any time I go to a military base or meet with a service member, this is one of the important ways that they thank you for whatever you are doing. And I collect these like diamonds.”
Who are you cheering on in the Oscar race? Have you seen many of the movies that are nominated?
