Many people don’t realize that Sean Penn wasn’t a “donate and run” kind of guy when it came to the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010. Sean founded the J/P Haiti Relief Organization and has been working tirelessly – and not just with his wallet – for the past two years to help the country return to some sense of normalcy.
Sean is refusing to throw up his hands and bail out, but the money (much of it his own) has been slow to come in lately, with the country’s attention on so many other tragedies since Haiti. Last night Sean held the 2nd Annual Sean Penn and Friends Help Haiti Home Gala. He enlisted the help of his A-List friends to keep his efforts in Haiti going. And they showed up in droves. Everyone from Daniel Craig to Leonardo DiCaprio to Reese Witherspoon and more turned out to help this worth cause.
