A month ago, Dax Shepard talked about wife Kristen Bell‘s “car crash labor and delivery” with their second daughter Delta Bell Shepard on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” But, on February 16, Bell told Ellen that her husband was just being “very dramatic.” She added that the delivery wasn’t really all that bad for her — at least while the epidural was still working.
“As someone who has never experimented with drugs, I really enjoyed it,” she said. “It was kind of a wonderful experience for me. While they were doing it, I actually thought, like, ‘What else could we get done down there? Maybe lengthen the shins?’ I’ve always wanted to be like 5’7″. Just anything to keep the epidural flowing.”
Unfortunately, the lovely high wore off and Bell says she was in her hospital bed compulsively scratching her face “like a meth addict” and hoping for a “re-up” of the epidural. Doctors gave her a dose of Benadryl to help her relax and it worked…maybe too well. The petite actress says she kept “zoning out” and taking very long pauses between her words. But the most interesting side effect of the dosage was online shopping.
“”Do you know what looks really good when you’re on that stuff? Hand bags or throw pillows or rugs,” she said. “A picture of a throw pillow was as mind-blowing as seeing ‘The Matrix’ for the first time.”
The good news? The mom of 7-week-old Delta and 22-month-old Lincoln is recovered from the birth and doing well now!
